Human Lines

I completely forgot about these edits that I did a couple of years ago! Since switching to a new computer I went through a lot of files and tried to better organize my work. Here are the pieces I uncovered This was a project that I only started to explore. Going forward I would love to try to something that incorporating screen printing on top of photographs or other digital prints. I recently started to see others sharing work like this and thought to myself, I do this all the time! Stay Strong & Style On -Kristina

Navigating Through Unemployment

Image
It has officially been six months since I got laid off from my job. I went to work on April 10th, expecting a pretty busy but normal day. Between designing the GabiFresh x Swimsuitsforall collection for 2020 and helping my technical designer sketch items for FullBeauty's swim AND working on the regular cruise assortment I got to the office early and started working hard. Whispers were echoing across the office that someone from Human Resources was in the office along with our VP and that something was going to happen. Honestly, I didn't think much of it! Our VP had regularly been making visits to the office since being put in charge of our division and having someone from HR didn't really surprise me. Maybe an hour or so into my day my cell phone rang at my desk; It was the VP calling and he asked me to come to the other side of the office and meet him in one of the other rooms. My initial thoughts were maybe they were investigating a complaint, wanted more info...

Fall Trending: A Shopping Guide

Fall shopping can be intimidating sometimes.  Maybe you regularly go fall shopping like me to get a few new key items to have in your closet or maybe you stopped fall shopping when "back to school shopping" was no longer a thing for you to do. Either way, I think it's nice to refresh your closet every 6 months when the weather starts to dramatically transition. Before swapping out my clothes for each season I try to go through the closet and what I had in storage to decide if I really want to wear it again for the season at hand.  When sorting through my clothes I usually do 1 of 3 things: Donate it, sell it or trash it.  I know you feel bad throwing away those bras or undies you've had for 10 years but trust me  Goodwill does not want it either!  In the last few months, I've thrown away underwear, bras, jeans with giant holes, and a shirt or two that is not ready or able to be worn by someone else.  Since joining Poshmark , I've made a few sales w...

Back to Basics - Renewing Your Practice

Hello all! It's been a minute! Life has been steering me in all sorts of directions and unfortunately has left me with less time to write and keep the blog moving right along. In addition to life steering me away from my writing, I have also been struggling over the last couple of months (okay, year) keeping yoga in my weekly practice.  Since I started running consistently over the past year I've really neglected my yoga practice which has left me feeling a little lost when it comes to exercise.  Running is my cardio and I do cross train at the gym, but with all this stress I should really be focused on bringing the yin back into my schedule. Last night I walked from my house to Riverfront Promenade to practice a little.  I'm still slowly recovering from a small injury in my knee so I was mindful to my body when doing poses I hadn't done since I went to the muscle therapist. After talking to my friends at run club about my knee pain, many of them recommend...
