In The End: Bye-Bye 2015

Image
I feel like I've blinked and this long ass year is finally over. Although long, frustrating, emotional and rewarding; I don't totally hate 2015 like some people do in this moment. I've found this year to be a growing and learning process for myself. It's hard to believe that we are starting 2016! Wow! Last year I made myself a " Goals for 2015 " post and I'm writing now to update and see what I did, what I didn't and start thinking about what the 2016 goals are. Shall we review? 1. I want to write more- So overall, did I write more? Yes and no. Did I write more short stories or poetry? No. But I did join a great site, Gruemonkey and became their lead Rock & Roll writer and editor.  It's come at the cost of neglecting my own blog a little bit but I am glad I found the site.  I've been able to write more about music (my other love) and meet some interesting people.  The best part was getting to interview Sage Francis and Henry R...

Spring 2016: Valentino

Image
Hi All! I know that it's been months  since my last real update but things are still in limbo around here.  Recently I started writing for a site called Gruemonkey and have taken on the role as lead Rock & Roll writer.  While this is very exciting and I have a new outlet, I feel bad for neglecting Chrysanthemum.  I'm hoping to take some photos this weekend in some outfits and get the ball rolling around here. For the time being as most of you know, it's fashion week! Shows are still pouring out and I'm loving what designers have brought to the table this season.  I just got through Valentino's show and in addition to being in love  with the looks and theme of the collection, I am drooling over the accessories and bags.  Here are some close up shots of my favourites; You can view the rest of the collection here on the new style.com

Fashion Week Favourites

Image
So fashion week has been going on now since the second week in September and it's slowly winding down.  I wanted to take some time to make a post about some of my favourite looks from the runway from this season.  I've discovered a few new designers this season and I definitely feel that I will follow their collections in the future. Each designer brought forth new looks and silhouettes, stuck to their image while experimenting with new and exciting colors/aesthetics. THE ELDER STATESMAN ASHISH DURO OLOWU GARETH PUGH VALENTINO A.F. Vandevorst ZIMMERMANN VIONNET Overall Valentino (as usual) stole my heart and Ashish's models blew me away. There were a lot of other designers who have impressed me this season, but these were the top looks that I bookmarked for myself! Hope you can find your own inspir...

Artist Thursdays: Tanya Taylor Resort '15

Image
Since starting my new job, I've had quite of bit of down time during the day to scope out style.com in search of new and exciting collections/designers.  Yesterday I came across this designer for the first time: Tanya Taylor She is a Canadian designer that it based out of New York and started designing to add more femininity to the sportswear world.  I find that her resort collection for 2015 is fun, different, creative and colourful.  The silhouettes are a bit boxy but still hold that girly element with the prints and the mod 60s look.  In it's own way I find the collection to be minimal but also speaks loudly.  Here are some of my favourite looks: I also really enjoyed these fun elements of photography being used to show off the collection. It is definitely something I haven't seen before! Be sure to check out style.com for more of Tanya's work or visit her site to learn more about her and view her other colle...
