#MyBodyStory

Image
If you have the chance today, stop by Do The Hot Pants to read #MyBodyStory . " #MyBodyStory is a weekly series of reader submitted pieces about what it’s like to live in your body. If you have a story to share, please email : Story@ DoTheHotpants.com  Remember, every body has a story." Well put by Dana, the Hot Pants herself. It was completely terrifying knowing that I'd be opening up to a larger audience than I'm use to on here but please if you have a moment read my story and all the other stories that people have bravely shared on her blog . Just because you're small, doesn't mean you always feel like it! Stay strong and style on, friends~ -Kristina

Stillness Sundays: Iceland homes

Image
I took a chance this week and booked my trip to Iceland!  I've been wanting to go to this beautiful country since I was about 16 and here I am almost 10 years later making it happen!  I've already started a pinterest board to inspire me where I should go and do.  If I have any readers who are from Iceland or have been before, please feel free to leave some suggestions! So even though my trip isn't until the beginning of October, I've already been thinking about everything.  I'm thinking about going dog sledding, visiting the Volcano, hot springs and maybe a waterfall or two!  Can't wait for the time to come.  Until then stay strong and style on, friends. -Kristina

Happy International Women's Day everyone! I've been spending today thinking about the most important women in my life and what they have done for me. My mother and my grandmother's have inspired me in so many ways and I can only hope to be as wonderful, caring and loving as them by the time I have children and much later, grandchildren. Mothers and grandmothers are more often than not the ones who help raise you and your family. They are a source of strength when you are at your weakest and pluck you up when you are needing it the most. Here is my mother, her mother and my father's mother. My mother, Helen. We had our years of misunderstanding and fights but truly my mother has done so much for me and I love her very much.  Since moving to Philly for college, getting a job in NJ and being away from home, it's been hard being apart from one another. We talk a few times a week, sometimes more. But its always nice when I get to travel home to see h

David Bowie: Fashion Icon, Rock Legend

David Bowie January 8th, 1947- January 10th, 2016 Although I'm writing this several months after his death, I still wanted to bring forward the importance of David Bowie and his contribution to music and fashion.  I do have to admit, I never was a huge  David Bowie fan,but there has been a number of songs and outfits that have inspired me over the years. In his life, Bowie produced 26 albums, did 14 world tours and appeared in 21 films and television shows. He accomplished so much during his time and his death was a huge loss in the world of rock and roll.  While all of these accomplishments are great, there have been some iconic outfits that have been worn by Bowie in the past years that made some of these moments famous and never forgotten. Life on Mars Some of Bowie's most famous suits were designed by Freddie Burretti , including the suit he wore in the music video "Life on Mars."  Not only did he design the blue suit, but a lot of othe
