Spring Sprung

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!!!
I was home in New Hampshire over the weekend and while I was there I brought back ALL of my spring and summer clothes! It really surprised me when I saw how many dresses I actually have!
Since today was in the 70s I went ahead and wore my polka-dot dress!



I got this dress a few years ago now with the intension for it to be my "Valentine's day outfit" I remember wearing it on Valentines day but I also remembering it being really cold and having to wear tights with this. It's finally warm enough now that I don't need those darn tights! Felt good to have bare legs and flats.  While my legs are still pale from the long winter, they will have their olive glow soon enough

As you might of seen in the last post, I really enjoy getting dressed up for special occasions!  This time is was no different.  Usually I end up going out and buying something new to wear to a wedding but in this case I already had a dress in my closet.  A few months ago a girl I worked with at Timberland came by my desk with a dress that she said was a gift from someone but it didn't find her exactly.  She's a little bit shorter than I am and the proportions were off for her.  That's the down side to being a petite girl! (I'm not even at 5'2!) So she was kind enough to bestow it upon me!  I've been waiting for the right occasion to come along and this was it! The polka dot dress from Forever21 has a cute little peplum and also a mesh top which adds character to the dress.  It also has the sweetest peter pan collar and a keyhole back.  The shoes are Carlos by Carlos Santana and I got them for a steal at Buffalo Exchange in Philly a few years back.

David Bowie January 8th, 1947- January 10th, 2016 Although I'm writing this several months after his death, I still wanted to bring forward the importance of David Bowie and his contribution to music and fashion.  I do have to admit, I never was a huge  David Bowie fan,but there has been a number of songs and outfits that have inspired me over the years. In his life, Bowie produced 26 albums, did 14 world tours and appeared in 21 films and television shows. He accomplished so much during his time and his death was a huge loss in the world of rock and roll.  While all of these accomplishments are great, there have been some iconic outfits that have been worn by Bowie in the past years that made some of these moments famous and never forgotten. Happy Belated Holidays! A few weeks ago it felt like I was searching endlessly for the perfect outfit for Christmas.  Any time I went out shopping I spent a lot of time in different stores trying on dresses and outfits that I just wasn't happy with. I ended up scrolling through ModCloth with the idea in my head that I wanted to wear plaid for Christmas. A "Christmas Plaid" if you will. In general I find the hype over ModCloth to be a little overrated and the prices (for me) to be a little above what I'm willing to spend on a casual dress that I want to wear several times.  I'm aware that you can adjust the price range of what you want to look at but somehow I never really wanted to take the leap. Although when I came across this dress for under $60, I was smitten!  I took a few photos Christmas eve with my pettiecoat under the dress to give it a bit more volume.
